Figuring out what to pack in your gym bag does not have to be a stressful event. Whether you are rushing to the gym from work, working out first thing in the morning before you start the rest of your day, or enjoying a relaxed weekend training day, you will want to make sure your gym bag is packed and ready to go! Prevent the panic of realizing you forgot something when you unpack your bag in the locker room with our gym bag checklist of all your workout essentials.
Clothes
Heading to the gym straight from work? You will want to pack a change of workout clothes, socks, and athletic gym shoes. If you are hitting the pool to swim some laps pack your swimsuit and a pair of pool/shower shoes. Anytime you are going to shower or change after your workout, always make sure you pack a new change of clothes. No one wants to wear their sweaty socks home again!
Towel
If you have a sweaty cardio session coming up, you may want to bring a small sweat towel with you and if you are hitting the pool or planning to shower at the end of your workout, you will want to bring a shower towel. Don’t want to have to remember a towel each time you come in? Stop by the Service Desk to add towel service onto your membership so you never have to remember a towel again!
Toiletries
We have you covered with our amenities which include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, blow dryers, deodorant, and even hair spray. All you will need is your after-shower items such as a hairbrush, face moisturizer, lotion, hairbands, or make up.
Water Bottle
Staying hydrated is essential during your workout, when you sweat during your workout, you will want to get more fluids in to avoid dehydration. Bring a reusable water bottle and fill it up at the fill up station on the fitness floor or a nearby drinking fountain. If you forget yours, bottled water is sold at both the Service Desk and vending machine in the Lobby.
Headphones
Nothing gives you a greater push on those last few reps of a hard set than when your favorite song comes on to motivate you, make sure you pack a pair of headphones and your smartphone, so you are always ready for those last few reps! No portable speakers are allowed.
Weightlifting Accessories
If you want to take your strength workout to the next level, you may want to add a few more items to your gym bag. Lifting gloves and lifting straps will be a tremendous help in your heavier sets. Throwing in a set of compression sleeves can help keep your muscles and joints warm and increase blood circulation and aid in recovery.
Post Workout Snacks
If you have errands to run or are off to start work, you want to make sure you pack something to eat at the end of your workout. You will want something with protein so your muscles can recover and be ready for your next workout whether it be a shaker bottler with some protein powder or just a protein bar.
