Do You Know Your Numbers?
You cannot manage, what you do not measure, which is why knowing your numbers is so important. The American Heart Association recommends that you know these five numbers:
✔️Total Cholesterol
✔️HDL Cholesterol (the good cholesterol)
✔️Blood Pressure
✔️Blood Sugar
✔️Body Mass Index
It is important to know these numbers because they help to determine your risk for developing Cardiovascular Disease. Knowing your numbers also provides you with a road map for improving your health. Did you know there are other “numbers” that fitness professionals say we should be aware of to improve our health?
For example, do you know your body fat percentage? This is important because the higher your body fat percentage, the more at risk you are for heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and cancer. Have you ever had a movement screening? During every assessment, our fitness professionals provide a seven-step movement pattern to determine your risk of injury. Knowing this number allows your fitness professional to tailor a fitness program made especially for you!
